Editor's review
This is a software tool that helps access databases directly without going through the programming via a text interface.
CDBF for DOS is a database viewer and editor that let individuals and business users access databases directly. You could access the data through the text interface provided, without resorting to any programming. Some of the very useful features include keyboard macros, multiple files opening, working with selected cells, exporting information to different formats including TXT, CSV, SQL, HTML, DBF, SQL Server script, Fox Pro and Visual Fox Pro, etc. CDBF for DOS features support for many types of memo fields as in dBaseIII, dBaseIV, FoxPro and Visual FoxPro, etc. Other useful features include the ability to create new CDBF files and append information from sources like DBF and plain text files to the existing ones, support for two character sets (ANSI and OEM), list of frequently used files, customizable field headers, search and replace functions, etc.
The tool also has the capabilities to repair corrupt database file headers and a built-in hexadecimal editor. The editor will help edit things at the lowest possible level. The interface is well laid out. Controls are easily accessible. The interface is simple and intuitive. Most users will be able to figure out how to use it in very quick time. This is a very good product and if you are looking for a tool like this, this could be it. Go ahead and try it out. If still work with these databases and need to access them at a very low level, this may be the solution you want!
